So it just shows the ranking of Japan...154th place

Not ready for prime time players...

Not a good sign. So far this World Cup seems like Germany's to lose. Scoring is down, parity is up. A very interesting Cup.

They might not qualify

That is embarrassing, with no disrespect to Singapore, but being unable to put even one goal past them at home is woeful. The Japanese men really need to get some lessons from the ladies in how to fight and work as a team. Have the wheels fallen off Halil-Japan already?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Wow, unable to close @home. Was everyone expecting them to win this one?

They just didn't seem to be too interesting in winning the match. Even the fans were getting pretty annoyed as there was a lot of rare booing at the end. The guys have got to pick up their attitude I think

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I gave up on this match at half-time. They had plenty of chances but basically no intent, no finishing instinct. It was extremely annoying to watch, especially in a Japanese bar with the locals still getting excited at such uninspiring play.

hahaha, its not the plaers fault obv. if okasaki scores 20 goals for his team obv he can score for japan too. problem is coach. need new coach. same thing i explained a previous article. ladies are doing good bc the have a coach with understanding

So they tie a game and everyone has acts like its over and they should just throw the towel in and fire the coach. Either you hate Japan for some reason or another or plain negative in all things.

Let's check the 2014 World Cup Qualification matches:

11/15/2011 vs. North Korea- Draw 0-0

2/29/2012 vs. Uzbekistan- Lost 0-1

6/12/2012 vs. Australia- Draw 1-1

3/26/2013 vs. Jorrdan- Lost 1-2

6/4/2013 vs. Australia- Draw 1-1

and yes folks, they still qualified for the 2014 World Cup.

Japan's record since new coach took over- 3-0-1, so let's fire him while we are at it.

Did you watch the match? They had a million chances but couldn't score. Okazaki won't score every game, especially when the other team is defending deep. Other players had point-blank chances but could't convert.

They used up all their goals in those useless friendly matches, I guess.

Japan could take some lessons from South Korea. I hope the coach lives up to his word about benching people. Get rid of Honda, for example.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

This is not a bad result for Japan. Even the major football powers in the world have hiccups just after the club season finishes. Players are in vacation mode and often not fit. Many of them are also wrapped up in contract negotiations. Albania beat France yesterday and Wales beat Belgium the day before.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The biggest problem was not the result, but the lack of creativity. No set plays, no exchange of passes and movement to create chances, it was mainly a match full of crosses to the area. Pretty bad.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

vallum is right and bogi neither albania or wales are not bad. the both are strong teams. smithjapan really doesnt like honda. which is fine, honda does need more work. and therougou i did watch it thats why im telling u events in the match, besides defending no matter how much efforts if the good team doesnt find the net means there has to be progress. Ya used their energy on friendlies is a coach issue. the coach should have made a schedule where this important match would have been won and the rest w.e. but anyways, i like the japanese national team. just disapointed with the poor start.
