Scottish. Scotch is a drink. And they did. Good song, too.

Congrats Japan and...comeoneengland.

I much prefer women's football. That game last night had no constant spitting, no string of fouls, no play-acting. It was pleasure to watch. And well done Japan on the win!

@Alfie

Thanks, I know.

The whole comment was tongue-in-cheek. Hence the ; ) mark. : )

I thought that too but Scotch is also an old word for Scottish

Scotch is an adjective meaning "of Scotland". The modern usage in Scotland is Scottish or Scots, and the word "Scotch" is only applied to specific products, mostly food or drink, such as Scotch whisky, Scotch pie, Scotch broth, and Scotch eggs.

Scotch girls are "girls of Scotland".

Back on topic please.

@zichi--Scotland fielded a team of girls? Next time bring full grown women and maybe win one.

Judging by the top picture, "holding" off Scotland is an accurate description.

It’s a footy thing. In the men’s game we often use ‘lads’ or ‘boys’.

I hope there will be no complaints about using ‘girls’ for women’s footy...

Whether it’s women or girls, men or boys, the Scots have been incapable of putting together a winning side for a very long time.

Fond memories of the Scots girls scraping a 1-1 draw with Norway in 1998.

Are they showing any of these or all the games on local TV or do we have to fight tooth and nail to find a station?

Some of the late-night matches involving Japansch ladies are shown again in the evening of the next day.
