I never quite got the lack of seasonal sports in Japan schools. If you are in the Baseball team, you play 5 days a week, every week of the year, become almost gulag-ish.

Baseball, softball, tennis, T&F are summer sports. Soccer, Rugby, Am Football are winter sports.

Balance is healthy in life. It would reduce stress for a lot of kids in clubs.

Yeah in Australia they play other sports but it's not with the specific purpose of giving themselves a larger skill set. It's because that is the way the junior sports system works in Australia.
