“Security measures were tough before and during the match. The police thoroughly frisked everyone,” Sabra said, adding that 20,000 people attended the game. “We highly respect our Japanese friends but, personally, I think it is a weak attempt to cover up their loss.”

fairly convincing statement. No complain No rematch, Japan team should try its 'luck' in next game.

I don't see how Jordan can deny there were laser beams when they were clearly visible to anyone watching on TV. It's also all over YouTube.

"The Japanese players themselves did not complain during or after the match yesterday."

Yeah, that's something called 'Sportsmanship' Mr. Sabra.... something that you and your fans should read up on.

Wow, they don't have TV or youtube in Jordan yet?

"We did not hear or notice anything about lasers,”

Well yea, they're kinda small and they don't make any sound.

I didn't see any lasers. I thought Endo was going to turn completely green and bust out of his shirt.

Jordan fans can't foresee shame exposure?

Anybody bringing in a laser to a soccer (football) match should be arrested. Anyone caught shining a laser onto the field or toward any of the players should be banned for life from attending future soccer games.

Lasers have been present in soccer for a while. I'd watch la liga games with those green lasers pointed at players during barca games and many others and I honestly don't think it's a bother. They never complained about them in Europe, and it's actually pretty common in European games. Also judging by how big that laser dot is the laser has to be pretty far away to expand to that size and the player only sees a tiny green dot for like what, 1/10 of a second? The player sees a dot the size of the laser pen at however far away it is, so it's going to be a really tiny dot. Now when they start producing higher energy blue lasers at lower prices then we might have some problems.

You don't know much about lasers, do you?

If Jordan does not take measures to prevent laser pointing happen again, Jordan should be disallowed to host any world cup games.

The problem I foresee is that this kind of obstruction becomes more wide spread. One laser light could be ignored but what happens when this 5,10,20 laser pointers starts attacking the players.

I actually know quite a bit about lasers and yes if they were industrial high powered lasers the size of the dot wouldn't increase, but those lasers are not, they are for civilian purposes and not that high quality. I'm not saying it's right for them to be used and shot at players, I'm just saying lasers are nothing new and aren't a problem yet. They occur in european games all the time, and europe takes soccer more seriously and if they were a problem for the games in europe they would've already been banned from stadiums are at least brought to attention earlier. If you watch a lot of football like I do you'd realize this. flood of down votes

Ouch!

Well, I must be using an industrial high powered laser to play with my cat then.

Probie: "Well, I must be using an industrial high powered laser to play with my cat then."

Has your cat complained about losing the game over it? If Japan had won, would they still have complained? Endo seems to be pretty cool about it all, so why not the rest?

Has your cat complained about losing the game over it?

No, although my shoes were a little soggy this morning...

If Japan had won, would they still have complained?

Probably. But with less interest.

Endo seems to be pretty cool about it all, so why not the rest?

Because he's a nice guy. I've met him a few times. He reminds me a bit of "lunch-pail" hockey players. Down to earth and just want to do his job.

With all the hype the media gives the mediocre Japanese team, they will jump at any chance to deflect the blame for losing.

With all my respect to all of you as Japanese Fans you should admit of Jordan win. The Jordanian (Al Nachama) were a great fighters against the blue Samorai. They have took an advantage when they played on their own court. The Jordan team's coach Adnan hamad have read the Japan team's technique. Jordan was as a virus Disrupted the Japanese Computer.

The JFA have found a un-professionalism execuse -laser beams- to cover his lost. Hard luck to Japan and great VIVA TO JORDAN

I don't think anybody is denying Jordan's win. Japan have as good as qualified for the finals already. The fact is shining laser beams at soccer players can be dangerous, distracting and unfair. Those Jordanian fans responsible need to be told to cut it out under threat of FIFA punishment if it reoccurs.

Pray tell, what were those green things flying around the eyes of Endo and Kawashima then?

Oh that's right, ya'll were blinded by the light.
