Former Seattle Mariners player Ken Griffey Jr held a baseball clinic for Japanese children in Kawasaki on Sunday.
Griffey, who now works as a Mariners consultant, showed his batting style, gave some tips on technique and took part in a question-and-answer session with young Japanese ballplayers at the clinic jointly sponsored by the Major League team and the Yomiuri Giants.
The Mariners are scheduled to open the 2012 regular season with two games against the Oakland As at Tokyo Dome on March 28-29.

Ken Griffey Jr is a classy guy and a good role model for young kids like these.

Tru dat! Shame he never won anything major except the nice guy of the league accolades. Seattle has let go some very good players over their inept existence.

The best thing about Griffey Jr. 'he played the game the right way." He apparently didn't opt for steroids or PEDs because, 'I got kids, man. What kind of father would I be if I juiced." If he would've taken PEDs, his name would be the same as Barry Bonds & Sammy Sosa, Griffey Jr. Is definitely Hall of Fame bound, the debate is still out there for the Roid Boys.

I admit I have never even heard of this Griffey bloke - but I'm sure he is an idol to all these kids watching him in awe. Good on him for volunteering!
