With all the loanees we have returning (including £72m Pulisic), we’ve got a decent squad which Lamps and assistant Jody Morris know well. I do worry about where the goals will come from though. I’m going to both friendlies here. I can’t wait!

Yeah, he won't look backwards. You prove yourself with a Championship club, you're offered a whole lot more money to move to a richer Premier League club, you move on.

I know Frank has the emotional tie to Chelsea, and as a Derby County fan I wish him well. I can't help wishing, though, that he'd stayed on for just one more season and really rewarded the club for the gamble they took on him as an unproven coach. But I know - that's not the way football is these days.

The big question is : what will Abramovich do if Lampard doesn’t get the expected results - Fire a legend ?

No, but Maria Granovskaia is, and she’ll follow Roman’s orders. The supporters won’t turn on Lamps, but the board might. I just hope he’s given a couple of seasons at least.
