Surely that’s Pickford’s last chance. He should have got a red and the VAR saved him after he should have stopped Henderson’s weak effort.

Everton getting the benefit of ref decisions in a derby? This is is crazy season.

Yeah, the reds got some tough calls against them today. That's the way it goes sometimes I guess. Virgil's injury looks to be a bad one too, he could be out for the season. Not a good day for us.

Surely that’s Pickford’s last chance.

Apart from those two incidents, he did make some very good saves though.

Apart from the VAR mess, it was a cracking game.

I fancied us to get back in it after Van Dijk went off. Matip goes missing and Gomez is all over the place.

Thiago man of the match. Great business there.

Good game. Pickford should have gone. What a great job Ancelotti has done.He has completely turned Everton around.

On a side note I have noticed that Zichi hasn’t been on this site recently. I understand he is a huge Liverpool fan as well.I hope he is OK.

Well, here I am!

Pickford committed what can only be called a criminal foul and escaped any justice. Van Dijk may be out for the rest of the season. Pickford said "oh! I'm sorry!". The VAR call on Hendo's goal was the wrong call and Mane wasn't offside. Thiago also kicked up a knee injury after he was tackled.

I enjoyed the game.

@zichi

Good to see you back. Jurgen give you a call, did he?

I thought Richarlison had broken Thiago's leg. Shocking challenge. But Liverpool as usual the perennial victims. You're current champions and World Club champions so try looking on the bright side of life. Liverpool fans the new Man Ltd fans maybe...?

I really admire Sadie Mane. Great fighter!

Maybe Klopp can convince the league to create it's own Liverpool-biased VAR? LAR..? Alright LAR.. The rest of the league has to put up with the ludicrous offside geometrics so why not Liverpool as well. And Liverpool play to those hairline diagonal lines and have been the biggest goal-hangers under the offside rules.

All club managers have always complained when there's a referee decision not agreed with. The passion of the game. VAR is not fail proof and has been incorrect on a number of occasions. The new handball rule is also wrong. The offside rule should be only if a foot of a player is across the line. These are the rules which kill football.

I thought Gerrard had returned to the derby in a blue shirt for a second.

I've gone off VAR.The interpretation has gotten so petty for what's deemed offside.MOTD was talking 'bout Mane's shoulder being in front. That missing of Pickford's takedown of VD was outrageous. Why bother with assistant refs if they can't spot that kind of tackle?

Van Dijk will be out of action for much of the season. Serious loss and can’t buy another player until January.

If that's true, you can say goodbye to a repeat title!

Virgil van Dijk is a pillar of strength for club and country. Wishing the ace defender a speedy recovery and a quick return to the starting line-ups.

Looking bad for Van Dijk. Will miss most of the season and at 29 he'll have to fight to get back into the team which will have resolved its CB problem by then. Won't return to the fitness level he made.
