WE HAVE IT.

After a very long wait, 30 years is way too long, especially after the number of league championships we have won when I was younger. Klopp is now a KOP God.

When Klopp arrived Liverpool were 10th in the league.

Sadness that the Covid-19 are stopping the fans going inside the stadiums.

Liverpool fans will be celebrating well into the night and few at work today.

Congratulations Liverpool !!

City’s away kit is terrible

Wonderful! No asterisk, no questions, we are champs again. Such a relief.

Look like a Man U came by?

Congratulations to Liverpool, the best team won (by a country mile). What a manager Klopp is though, absolutely brilliant. Can't wait for next season.

Yippi-di-do-dah!!!!

Look like a Man U came by?

Some people have clearly thrown their rattles out of their prams. I hope they understand this British English.

One of the best sides ever to win the league.

City’s away kit is terrible

Dog’s dinner kits have been creeping in for a few years now. It is open season on away kits in particular.

Stop it.

Congratulations to champions Liverpool. Much awaited and much deserved. No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic.

No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic.

Do you mean the people you described as ‘bin dippers’?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Liverpool FC will wait until next year to have a city parade.

Jimizo

Well you certainly don't disappoint.

Well you certainly don't disappoint.

I was just trying to clarify what you meant by “No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic”.

I thought it might be trash talk again.

A great achievement, spoiled only by the headline of this article. (Visions of zichi singing "We am the champion!" :-) )

A sad day for football

now matching exactly the same number of PL titles as Blackburn and Leicester *

when I first starting supporting they were in the 2nd division, that was about 1955. I was born within walking distance of Anfield.

Sang all the Kop songs but never “we are the champions!” because I have always believed we are.

I was at secondary school for seven years. Liverpool won the league for five of those years. Naturally I hated them, a bit like people hated Man U in the 90s.

Very chuffed with this, now, though. Well done, you Reds! Looking forward to a response from the blue half of Merseyside....

Come on, Tigers, footie existed before the PL. I’m sure you remember Michael Thomas in the “It’s up for grabs now” moment...

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Wonderful achievement for gaffer Herr Jürgen Klopp and his supremely gifted footballers, and die-hard fans. Well played Liverpool F.C. Congratulations.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Looking forward to a response from the blue half of Merseyside....

If you mean feelings, I’m glad they won it but I’m glad they didn’t win it at Goodison. That would have been too much to take.

If you mean a response in the form of a challenge to Liverpool next season, sod that.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I meant the second one, Jim.

I’m sure your lot will be on top one of these days... Look how things have changed down the M62!

If you mean a response in the form of a challenge to Liverpool next season, sod that.

Lol, come on lad, chin up. You’ve got Carlos there now. Bound to be better than this season.

Who’s Carlos?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You have a good memory Jim.. Klopp won this title. Simple as that.

Klopp is a genius. Of all the players in that team only really Alisson, Van Dijk, and Salah are naturally world class. The likes of Mane, Henderson, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Firmino etc have had their games raised by Klopp's enthusiasm and energy. He has taken those players and created a team that has won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and now the title. City, Chelsea, and Man Utd have squads with better natural individual talent (and price) but they don't have Klopp as coach.

and altogether now, all three have won more times than Tottenham.

Spurs - trophy dodgers.

Even though Liverpool FC became the PL champions after Chelsea's dramatic 2-1 victory over Manchester City this morning, they still need to beat MC in their away match next week to firmly establish their new order in the next season.

they still need to beat MC in their away match next week to firmly establish their new order in the next season.

I’d give the main men a break and use the rest of the season to give some kids and squad players a run out. No need to risk bad injuries.

Nothing to prove now.

Who’s Carlos?

Your manager. Minus the pedantic S of course.

@zichi

My first trip to Anfield was in the mid 1970s. A Liverpool friend took me to a game and we stood in the Kop. The atmosphere was great. I was teased for my Scottish accent, but compared to the "teasing" at Celtic and Rangers games in Scotland, it was a joy. However, the game ended in a draw, and my friend applied that usual football logic, "Whenever you come here, they don't win." He banned me. But a year later, he relented and took me to a game again. (He had a season ticket then, so we sat in the stand.) This time, Liverpool lost. "That's it. You're banned for life." I've not been back to Anfield since. So I'd like to take some credit for this triumph.

You may be interested to know (but perhaps not) that Scottish TV gave a lot of attention yesterday to Liverpool's championship win. There's a lot of warmth towards Liverpool here. Probably down to past connections (Shankly, Dalglish, Hansen, and various other ugly ones). I'm a big fan, honest.

I didn't doubt you. Yes strong connection with Scotland and Liverpool.

Most hated team in England though, aren't they? Liverpool I mean. Definitely the most irritating fans. Plastics!

Thomas Goodtime

Most hated team in England though, aren't they? Liverpool I mean. Definitely the most irritating fans. Plastics

but not brave enough to walk into a Liverpool pub and GOB off on that?

The majority of clubs would love to have fans like Liverpool with their deep passion for the team and the game.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

@zichi

Who on earth would walk into any pub and say that? Sorry, I don't agree about most clubs wanting fans like Liverpool fans.

'Deep passion for the team and the game'? How self important does that make you sound? Very few non Liverpool supporting football fans like Liverpool.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

@zichi

Got to be Man U, no?

I don’t hate them personally; I used to live in Manchester. But several millions do, with a passion.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Very few non Liverpool supporting football fans like Liverpool.

Successful teams are generally disliked - City. Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea. Leeds and Millwall are disliked for other reasons.

I wish Everton were successful enough to be disliked by more people.

I’d go with lucabrasi with Man U as the most hated but they are now mediocre.

By the way, who do you support?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

A, Jimizo, I'm ashamed to admit who I support. Put it this way, we've been appalling this year and rightfully belong at the wrong end of the table :)

Regarding Liverpool, I think it's the fans that other supporters dislike, not the team itself. The victim mentality and this belief that Liverpool are somewhat different to other teams (in a superior kind of way) just rubs people up the wrong way.

I absolutely hate them.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Jimizo, also I like Everton. I'm not a toffee, but I've always had a soft spot for them.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Jimizo, I'm ashamed to admit who I support.

Never be ashamed of what team you support.

Support your team.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I was only joking! Never ashamed. Though thick and thin :)

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I was only joking! Never ashamed. Though thick and thin

So, who do you support then?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Quite right. No place for shame when it comes to football.

Unless you’re a denizen of the Holt End...,

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Holte, no, Luca?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Thomas

Can’t say I’ve ever troubled myself to check.... ; )
