Congratulations to Liverpool, the best team won (by a country mile). What a manager Klopp is though, absolutely brilliant. Can't wait for next season.

Looking forward to a response from the blue half of Merseyside....

If you mean feelings, I’m glad they won it but I’m glad they didn’t win it at Goodison. That would have been too much to take.

If you mean a response in the form of a challenge to Liverpool next season, sod that.

Wonderful! No asterisk, no questions, we are champs again. Such a relief.

I was at secondary school for seven years. Liverpool won the league for five of those years. Naturally I hated them, a bit like people hated Man U in the 90s.

Very chuffed with this, now, though. Well done, you Reds! Looking forward to a response from the blue half of Merseyside....

Come on, Tigers, footie existed before the PL. I’m sure you remember Michael Thomas in the “It’s up for grabs now” moment...

I meant the second one, Jim.

I’m sure your lot will be on top one of these days... Look how things have changed down the M62!

Congratulations Liverpool !!

City’s away kit is terrible

Wonderful achievement for gaffer Herr Jürgen Klopp and his supremely gifted footballers, and die-hard fans. Well played Liverpool F.C. Congratulations.

Spurs - trophy dodgers.

Got to be Man U, no?

I don’t hate them personally; I used to live in Manchester. But several millions do, with a passion.

Very few non Liverpool supporting football fans like Liverpool.

Successful teams are generally disliked - City. Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea. Leeds and Millwall are disliked for other reasons.

I wish Everton were successful enough to be disliked by more people.

I’d go with lucabrasi with Man U as the most hated but they are now mediocre.

By the way, who do you support?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Jimizo, I'm ashamed to admit who I support.

Never be ashamed of what team you support.

Support your team.

Congratulations to champions Liverpool. Much awaited and much deserved. No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic.

A great achievement, spoiled only by the headline of this article. (Visions of zichi singing "We am the champion!" :-) )

Lol, come on lad, chin up. You’ve got Carlos there now

Who’s Carlos?

You have a good memory Jim.. Klopp won this title. Simple as that.

Klopp is a genius. Of all the players in that team only really Alisson, Van Dijk, and Salah are naturally world class. The likes of Mane, Henderson, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Firmino etc have had their games raised by Klopp's enthusiasm and energy. He has taken those players and created a team that has won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and now the title. City, Chelsea, and Man Utd have squads with better natural individual talent (and price) but they don't have Klopp as coach.

Even though Liverpool FC became the PL champions after Chelsea's dramatic 2-1 victory over Manchester City this morning, they still need to beat MC in their away match next week to firmly establish their new order in the next season.

Who’s Carlos?

Your manager. Minus the pedantic S of course.

@zichi

My first trip to Anfield was in the mid 1970s. A Liverpool friend took me to a game and we stood in the Kop. The atmosphere was great. I was teased for my Scottish accent, but compared to the "teasing" at Celtic and Rangers games in Scotland, it was a joy. However, the game ended in a draw, and my friend applied that usual football logic, "Whenever you come here, they don't win." He banned me. But a year later, he relented and took me to a game again. (He had a season ticket then, so we sat in the stand.) This time, Liverpool lost. "That's it. You're banned for life." I've not been back to Anfield since. So I'd like to take some credit for this triumph.

You may be interested to know (but perhaps not) that Scottish TV gave a lot of attention yesterday to Liverpool's championship win. There's a lot of warmth towards Liverpool here. Probably down to past connections (Shankly, Dalglish, Hansen, and various other ugly ones). I'm a big fan, honest.

I was only joking! Never ashamed. Though thick and thin

So, who do you support then?

Yippi-di-do-dah!!!!

Look like a Man U came by?

Some people have clearly thrown their rattles out of their prams. I hope they understand this British English.

One of the best sides ever to win the league.

Lol, come on lad, chin up. You’ve got Carlos there now. Bound to be better than this season.

they still need to beat MC in their away match next week to firmly establish their new order in the next season.

I’d give the main men a break and use the rest of the season to give some kids and squad players a run out. No need to risk bad injuries.

Nothing to prove now.

Quite right. No place for shame when it comes to football.

Unless you’re a denizen of the Holt End...,

@Thomas

Can’t say I’ve ever troubled myself to check.... ; )

City’s away kit is terrible

Dog’s dinner kits have been creeping in for a few years now. It is open season on away kits in particular.

Stop it.

No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic.

Do you mean the people you described as ‘bin dippers’?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Jimizo

Well you certainly don't disappoint.

Jimizo

Well you certainly don't disappoint.

I was just trying to clarify what you meant by “No doubt their faithful supporters will find a way to properly celebrate despite the pandemic”.

I thought it might be trash talk again.
