Ah well Kei..

Alexander Zverev, the 2018 Madrid champion, comfortably defeated 2014 finalist Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-2.

Nishikori had no chance in this one. He played all right, but Zverev simply outclassed him from beginning to end.

Rafael Nadal ...cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 win over teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz

This was a fun match to watch, despite the one-sided result. Alcaraz showed a lot of heart and a lot of poise, and it's easy to see why Spanish fans are rallying behind him as a player for the future. But Rafa - wow. He was a man on a mission in this one, and played at a super high level.

I just watched the first set, and as The Original Wing said Nishikori played well, he actually got an early break, but Zverev was in exceptional form.

I personally see Sinner much more of a "sensation" in the sense of a future champion, but he also lost...

And the victory of the ever entertaining Bublik against Shopavalov does deserve a mention (or it was 2 days ago?). The match with Karatsev will certainly be interesting.
