The Philippine team has a lot of nerve posing for a 'selfie' after this little stunt. And it appears that one of their own caught an Aussie with an elbow and that's a mean stunt by itself. Looks to me like their team started this up. IMHO.

Talk about a thriller in Manila!

@ starpunk - spot on from what Ive seen. The Aussie guy shouldnt have reacted to the initial cheap shot, sure, but having phillipine officials and even security get involved, Phillipine guys karate kicking and punching from behind just shows their complete cowardice. Their lack of ability is forgiveable, but not that thuggery.

A violent society and president breeds violent players, it seems.

Chippy game. The referees did not have control from the outset, and as the scoring got too much for them, so did their tempers. Absolutely, Australia's Kickert was out of line with his retaliatory forearm smash to the head of Pogoy, but the response the Philippines team (and by "team", I mean players and coaching/support staff inclusive) attacking was perhaps the worst thing I've seen in international sports.

Australia will be penalized, but I would suggest that FIBA should hand down a banning to the entire Philippines team of a magnitude that will ensure that this never happens again.

NBA Australian Thon Maker running around looking to Bruce Lee kick someone, lol

Aussie guard Golding was fouled and pushed over. His Aussie teammate elbowed back the Filipino fouler in the neck. So then the brawl ensued.
