Messi had been tight lipped about his plans.

Tight lipped and ashen faced, by all accounts.

I'd like to see him at City but with Jack and Harry on the way there's no money left in Pep's piggy bank.

Can he do it on a cold February night at Brentford? It would be fun to see him try....

Depends if he wants a challenge, a paycheck, or a holiday.

A challenge would be City, a paycheck would be PSG, a holiday would be The U.S.

Preston North End need a striker.

Not many clubs can pay his wages. Fundraiser maybe? Weird for him after 20 years at the club.

Probably PSG. Still too young to retire and could still play decent footie until he's 40.

Preston North End need a striker.

A fine club. It might even get the wife to give more than a half-arsed check of the table every now and again.

I agree that PSG looks the most likely.

I would like to see how he fares in the Premier League though. Would he prefer London?

"Other options include Manchester City at 7/2, or any MLS club at 11/1, while even a return to his homeland with Newell's Old Boys is a staggering 20/1."

They aren't even offering odds of him coming to play in the Japanese League. Well, maybe when he is 40 or so...
