When a MLB team pays out $365 million for a person fo hit a ball with a stick, I think it’s insanity.

I don’t understand people who are fans of any team. Why do you care? It’s like being a fan of McDonalds to beat Burger King.

Agree. Money has ruined MLB baseball. These greedy players like Max Scherzer just jump around from team to team driving up their ridiculous salaries, I used to like MLB but I’m out. I’ll stick to my beloved Yakut Swallows. MLB is American greed at its worst.

The players have enough money that they could start their own league. If enough all star caliber players got together, they could attract big television and media contracts while the current major leagues could end up with little to offer broadcasters.

If nothing else, it would give the players a huge bargaining chip and force owners to heed their demands.

Anytime this happens I think they should fire these greedy players and call up minor league players in thier stead. The games would be way more competitive, because they would played by athletes who truly love the game.

But do ya really want to watch talent levels the likes of Tim Tebow and Michael Jordan everyday? They're good enough for the minor leagues, but not good enough for the majors. Yes, they love the game so much that they'd lose money over it, but......

Dunno if it'd be way more competitive - minor league players are known for their inconsistency. Pitchers can be major league-caliber one day, then be walking every batter their next game. Unless ya enjoy watching walk-a-palooza. That's why they're not in the majors yet

I guess it just comes to what standard people are willing to take interest; for me to see a bunch of hustling minor league players playing under big lights etc. with snacks and drinks at the ready, I could deal with that until something better came along. But that's just me.

Used to live in a city with a big AAA team, talk of the town. Tickets and food were cheap enough that we could attend regularly. But half the time we'd find our enjoyment elsewhere besides on the field (a friend once joined in a "contest" to dance on top of the dugout in a home-made mascot costume lol). But imagine watching on TV or paying for MLB stadium ticket and food prices.........
