So the end result is this. A celebration of one of the most famous Black baseball players ever and a long time Atlanta hero gets to have the game celebrating him and his achievements made in Atlanta .....in an empty stadium in Los Angeles or New York?

sad.

Twitter knows:

.@RealClearNews's @PhilipWegmann asks Jen Psaki if the Biden White House is so adamant about having MLB move its All-Star Game from Georgia because of the voting law, why aren't they calling for a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing?!

Psaki did NOT like this question.

Anyone familiar with U.S. elections will understand why Georgia did it. And Texas. And why every other State should follow. They’re doing their best to preserve election integrity.

This is a solution in need of a problem.

Despite best efforts of American media and Big Tech

Ohhhh, How many votes did "big tech" change? My rightwing nonsense.

many do not believe the “official” results of the 2020 elections. Censoring doesn’t change facts, it only attempts to suppress them.

lolololol Many peoples' "feelings" aren't facts. No one cares about feelings. But here's a "fact" for you: Donald Trump lost Georgia fair and square. Warnock and Ossoff won fair and square, and that is the real reason for voter suppression in Georgia.

The Delta Airlines CEO calls the new law ‘unacceptable’, but forgets to mention that a photo ID is required to fly on their planes.

Photo ID is NOT required to fly on a commercial flight within the US. Hundreds of people do it every day after their wallet is stolen or lost during a trip. They just get searched a little more carefully.

Further, Delta isn't responsible for the push for ID - that's the Homeland Security Department and the US Congress which pass the Real-ID Act.

Georgia wants to be business friendly and in the past, that meant keeping just the C-Suite people happy.

Not anymore.

The world has changed and Georgia is going to learn there are repercussions for harming the communities when large employers (i.e. tax base) aren't happy. Microsoft came out against the law too. Large employers have lots of employees and most of those employees aren't paid like the wealthy. They work specific shifts and having convenient voting options is important.

The people calling it voter integrity protections have never shown any proof of any issues, certainly none serious enough to change the outcome for any election. It is a huge lie by conspiracy types - but with ZERO proof. I put them with the Flat Earth, Anti-vaccine, and religious fundamental people who thinks Earth is only 6,000 yrs old.

Georgia politicians should be trying to get more Georgians who are legally registered to vote, to actually vote. Hint, that's called a "democracy." Being against democracy is un-American.

In the local, highly GOP-ified newspaper here, people are saying they will boycott MLB. I'm good with that, since the ball park is near where a group of friends meet weekly to shoot the bull - during baseball season, traffic there can be terrible. Boycott away - please. I didn't want the ballpark.

Hopefully, the Georgia legislature will undo this law and the US Congress will make all these little emperors trying to limit voting go away.

Random,

When was the last time a voting booth was hijacked? Apples and oranges.

The loser republicans who can only win by cheating have in the past hide their racist voter suppression actions but now they are not hiding what they are doing. This is Jim Crow redux pure and simple. Democracy is in the back of the bus for the republicans willing to not allow voters to vote so they can keep power for themselves and screw over all voters except the very, very rich..

The useless whining about Trump losing in Georgia is all based on lies. Lies that get repeated over and over again by the lying liars who tell them. Pull up your pants republicans and admit you just lost because Trump let over 500,000 people die from Covid needlessly.

I see the voting laws in Georgia being repelled in about 2 - 4 years. North Carolina had a bathroom bill passed and lost the NBA All Star Game as well as many NCAA tournaments putting a large dent in the tourism market for the state. I see the same occurring here. Additionally, if we factor in the amount of entertainment production that Georgia is involved in and the personal politics of its workforce, I can also see this voting bill getting very expensive very fast.

It would be suicide for MLB to follow the NBA and NFL into politics.

What is most interesting is the reaction by some iconic American corporations like Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines, demanding Georgia reverse course. I guess they would benefit from rigged elections.
