Raonic wasn't misfiring, so far as I could see. There is a reason Murray is ranked 2nd in the world. Well done Murray!

So, is he back to being 'British' then instead of Scottish?

Its a foreign newspaper who consider him British. Your implication (of the common false whinge) that English news represent Scots as British only when they win, doesnt apply. Your confirmation bias is showing.

Here, I will join in with you: english == bad; scottish == good. Are you feeling better seanwd20?

Back to the real topic - Good job Murray!

Typical US-centric media report: Raonic was NOT "misfiring", he only lost one service game. He was made to look less than stellar because of Murray's superb return of serve. Give credit where it's due please! Well done Andy!

Ah, your usual ray of sunshine to brighten up our day.

Just say well done and leave the silly, childish nationalism for another day.

@sf2k I was cheering for Murray, but I thought Raonic had a great tourney, beating Federer in the semi final was a great achievement and I thought he acquitted himself very well in the after natch ceremony and interview, despite the pain of losing. He's a credit to himself, his family and Canadian society!

Murray is in good form right now, simple as that. Raonic beat the world number 3 and lost to the world number 2. Probably a good reflection of where he is at, and he has years ahead to improve his game. He'll be one to win a slam sooner or later.

You are absolutely right. Just be positive since it is rare that the British win in any sports on the international stage.

I guess a record medal haul at the 2012 Olympics, repeated wins in the Ryder Cup, F1, Tour de France, boxing, PGA tour, international rugby and cricket by Brits don't count. Then again, if you're a yank you've probably never heard of anything outside of rounders, hoopball and NFL fatball.

Couldnt give a toss to be honest, sunshine. That's why I called it silly, childish nationalism.

Do try to keep up.
