It could be as simple as the other being a superfan of your opponent. Or your opponent's friends and relatives. But they'll never gonna root for you to win

Accept that there's always someone in the stands who doesn't like you; that they'll whistle at you and shout that you suck. Nothing you can do that would ever change that. So just accept it, and just do what you do

Abuse is at every level of sport either on field or in the crowd. The majority do nothing about it so it will continue. If those in the crowd around, next to, behind and in front of a person hurling abuse, all stand and point at the responsible person so they can be ejected, crowds will learn not to do it or waste money on tickets only to be ejected.

It is supposed to be about the sport, and the outcome should never be affected by abuse on or off court. Sledging in Cricket or baseball, crowd abuse, it should all be eliminated so the fans can enjoy the sport they are there to see and not be subjected to idiots they did not pay to see or hear.

It takes no skill at all to yell abuse but it take great skill, dedication and practice to be at the top level in any sport.

Cricket started out a gentleman's game. It has for decades now been anything but. That is both a shame on the players that sledge and on the crowds that follow suit.

Why is there no sport for sledging and yelling abuse? Because nobody is prepared to pay to go see it. It seems most are prepared to put up with it rather than clean it up. Says a lot about today"s society and the other many problems it faces.

Naomi and others should have a safe work environment. In some places not providing that is a workplace crime with penalties.

Work in a bank, a customer in line hurls abuse at the teller what happens? Security throws them out and maybe police come and lay charges. See what I am getting at?

I grew up in Europe, and as a kid my parents didn't let me go to a football match because of the foul language, incessant heckling, and often fights among supporters. This is also one of the reasons I became a tennis fan. I know that football became comparably better, and I hope (dream?) both sports will be largely clean of idiot supporters in the future.

For those who think that heckling and insulting a tennis player (or any other sport or famous person for that matter) because you disagree with his/her comments, political stance, etc. etc., please stay out of stadiums. You are just ruining it for everybody else.
