Naomi has become incredibly boring. Her early exits have become routine, and every article has to mention the birth of her daughter. It’s real old news now.

And what happened to her BLM activism? Gone.

MontyPieThong: "Cowardly Haters gonna hate no matter what she does."

Who's cowardly for pointing out that she BACKED OUT. We certainly didn't. Besides, as pointed out rightly above, anyone who doesn't automatically praise her is a "hater" in the eyes of the few fans she still has. At least most of the original bandwagoners no longer comment quite as much.

Compared to the ultimate one-hit wonder Emma Raducanu (and if you think that Naomi's fans are obsessed, you ain't seen nothing yet), Osaka is an entirely different proposition.

Funny thing is, some of the "experts" here were strongly predicting Raducanu to go on and dominate after her only Major win - that Osaka was inferior to her as a player and that she was the prototype to follow!

Four Majors is incredibly impressive even if Naomi retired tomorrow at 26. Not that any of the haters would ever acknowledge that.

Hope she can sort out her back.

Guess the Japanese interpreter she had lined up for the tournament is looking for another gig now...

She won the first four grand slam finals she contested, which is a hugely impressive achievement - only two other players have ever done it. Since then, seems like her mental demons have got the better of her. But she's got the skills to win more if her body holds up.

Yeah, don’t say anything even slightly negative about Naomi. Seems to trigger a lot of people here.

If she is representing the country and trying her best why do you have to sound so spiteful?

Haters gonna hate whenever anyone makes a Naomi-related comment that isn’t filled praise and tributes.

She backed out.

It's OK, as long as she is ready for her "home" Olympics in 2028

*Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka on Monday pulled out of her home Japan Open*

First, it’s a stretch to claim that Japan is Naomi’s home when she hasn’t resided here since she was three. Reuters rightfully deleted “home” from its report.

Second, I hope Naomi’s absence doesn’t result in less coverage of the tournament by JT.
