This is "classic" victory for Japan. Exclusive WBC rights should be given to Japan.

I guess no one has ever heard of the Netherlands Antilles before...

More proof than ever of how haphazard this kind of tournament is.

It's not that big of a surprise, if you had watched any of the previous games...ir knew a few things about baseball.

For one, the Netherlands has major league caliber players from the Caribbean. Jones was the starting center fielder for the Atlanta Braves for many a year and an All Star to boot.

For another, baseball teams need depth, especially at pitching. They can't just rely on luck, as evidenced by the fact that the Netherlands had ALREADY beaten Cuba in this tournament.

So explain the smashing they took from a very average Japanese side 48 hours earlier ! It's getting smelly..we all know where the money's coming from,no Japan no tournament..

No way. You seriously believe that Cuba would take a dive in it's national sport? Whenever Japan do well in the WBC these false accusations always come out when in fact Japan are two time WBC champions.

TigersTokyoDome ditto that ! There seems to be a lot of folks who just don't like to see Japan do well in anything on the international level !
