Professional sports needs a good wire brush cleaning from the top to the bottom. I can't believe the double standard that prevails in dealing with criminal acts committed by professional athletes.

scipantheist Sep. 18, 2014 - 04:52AM JST Remember the law is supposed to be BLIND to gender. Are you comfortable giving decades in prison for a wife who slaps her husband?

But law is not blind with the average size of men being much bigger than women.

Why exactly is domestic violence more serious than assault? Remember the law is supposed to be BLIND to gender. Are you comfortable giving decades in prison for a wife who slaps her husband? If not, think carefully about what you are asking for here.

Goodell certainly has to do something, or be fired. The sponsors have the right idea, if they go beyond just threatening withdrawal of their budgets and actually do it. But the problem with that option is the contracts they've signed. I doubt those pieces of paper have domestic violence clauses that would allow it. Sad.
