Asics, from Japan, is a distant fourth behind Nike US, and Addidas (named after the founder Adolf, Adi Dassler) and Puma both from Germany, but I like Asics shoes. I also quite like Reebock but see that they, founded in 1890 in Bolton England are since 2005 an Addidas subsidiary.

Adidas has no chance against Nike. Adidas just lost its NFL contract--that will kill any chances for catching up to Nike.
adidas basically sucks. crap company, crap designs.

No one cares about NFL outside the US - so a fairly good chance for Adidas I'd say

sorry, no one cares about cricket outside of the UK..ooops
as such, that is why adidas will always be second rate.

and brilliant marketing there on adidas with the "shackles" shoes. talk about ignorance. and just plain stupidity.

Really, no one outside of the UK.... You forgetting Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan. Who are all cricket mad countries.
Nec123a is right outside the US no-one really cares about or follows the NFL.

?? Wow, someone has a bit of a chip on their shoulder! Try saying that to the cricket-mad street kids in Pakistan and in India. Forced upon them? The Empire fell a long time ago yet cricket is by far the number 1 sport in Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. And if you work out the population size of India and Pakistan, that makes cricket one of the most played sports globally. Pakistan and India produce great, great cricket players and they beat England, Australia and South Africa on a regular basis.

I disagree. Adidas has more elegant design that Nike. I am one who wears nothing from Nike - I think it's tacky. I prefer Adidas or Puma designs, while I associate Nike with Puerto Ricans in Miami wearing giant gold necklaces.

if elegant means slavery-inspired shackle shoes, ok then!

^ Not a great idea. Agreed. But Adidas overall designs are superb. I suggest you visit a Y3 (Adidas wear designed by Yohji Yamamoto) store near your.
