Ethnic Asians have won Majors, size/ethnicity is no excuse. I've never even heard of this Shuzo fellow - he mustn't have been much chop. Don't know if he should really be a yardstick for Mr. Nishikori. C'mon - aim for the second week of Majors!

Good luck Kei and the size thing is more about the size of your heart, not your body! Remember Shuzo did get to the Wimbledon 1/4 finals!

Shuzo Matsuoka has been a great mentor and teacher for me

I guess he has to say that, but that tarento Matsuoka drives me nuts. I still recall his idiotic dance when he won a match at Wimbledon. Embarrassing.

I love his jumping forehand. Beautiful and explosive. If he can stay healthy, he's a contender to make a deep run into the Slams.

Make history??? People don,t remember who,s the highest ranked player in the country, people remember those who win slams.... I think Kei can get there if he stays injury free and the Japanese press lay off him.... He,s won one ATP tournament in Delray a couple of yrs ago but that,s it so far ,he has been fortunate enough to be trained in such an exclusive academy ,The Bolliteri Academy in Florida, so once he wins a couple more ATP tournaments and gets into the second week in slams he will have a more international appeal......

Go for the combination cliche/ slant rhyme/ tongue twister headline: Kei Fills Big Shoes, Surpasses Shuzo.
