Everything thrown up in the air, and Lady Luck takes a prominent role. Fantastic race from Lewis, again, but Max was stuck in a damaged car.

Great for Ocon, Alonso and the whole Alpine team.

The word count for Hamilton in this article tells it all.

Wow, what a superb couple of hours that was, really riveting racing. Seems a bit harsh on Vettel but I suppose rules are rules.

Pleased for Ocon and his team, and the fight for the title takes another twist.

It's a dumb rule. Vettel drives a hard race, his car finishes and he gets DQ'd for a fuel consumption penalty? Garbage.

Formula E cars regularly finish the race with 0% battery charge.

Maybe time to revisit that F1 remaining fuel rule.(?)

F1 regulations state that "competitors must ensure that a 1.0 litre sample of fuel may be taken at any time during the event"

It's not just at the end of the race - they could've provided the necessary 1.0 litre sample at any time during the race

Seems for one reason or another, they weren't able to provide that 1.0 litre sample during the race, so they hoped to provide it after the race

But they may have miscalculated how much fuel they have left after the race

Hamilton fears he may have long-haul Covid symptoms after he got infected last year

Along with 3 others, Vettel was reprimanded by FIA for wearing a T-shirt during the Hungarian national anthem

https://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/31935611/vettel-reprimanded-failing-remove-t-shirt-hungarian-gp

Vettel was one of four drivers reprimanded for wearing a t-shirt over his race overalls during the national anthem at the Hungaroring, which contravenes the race director's pre-race notes.

Sebastian Vettel has been reprimanded for wearing a rainbow-coloured t-shirt with the words "Same Love" on it during the national anthem ceremony ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Vettel wore the t-shirt in order to protest recent legislation in Hungary aimed at limiting the discussion of homosexuality and transgender issues in schools.

Drivers do, however, have a designated moment ahead of the national anthem in which they are encouraged to wear t-shirts promoting messages of diversity and inclusion. Vettel opted to wear his own t-shirt in pride colours, while the other three drivers who failed to remove their shirts ahead of the anthem in Hungary -- Valtteri Bottas, Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll -- were wearing black Grand Prix Drivers Association shirts with the message "We Race As One" (WRAO).

Reprimands do not carry a sporting penalty in F1 unless a driver accrues three of them in one season and at least two of the three are for driving offences rather than off-track incidents.

Pretty irresponsible to drive an F1 car while feeling sick, if true. I read that Hamilton probably fell ill after swallowing some fuel when siphoning it out of Vettel's car.

WURS he got last year. He looked totally exhausted after his battles yesterday, not before.
