olympics no more...cities and nations are thrown into severe financial quagmire just staging this event. There is not much to gain, everything is just a waste of time, bankrupting cities, and making citizens and future citizens pay for an event that is not even worth its price. Unless IOC changes the rules, we will see less and less bidders until none.

In case of emergency, break glass and call Vancouver or Salt Lake

Cancel the Olympics for good. They serve no useful purpose, than for a bunch of fatcats to jetset around the world and wine and dine at people's expense, and bankrupting countries, such as happened in Rio, Athens and many more.

Classic example of misdirection, blame something that has no relation to the underlying corruption, inefficiency and staggering costs imposed by the IOC on host countries, the IOC makes vast amounts of money from it but bears non of the costs.
While I don’t in principle disapprove of the original concept of the Olympics, it has become bloated, unwieldy and corrupt over time. It needs a fundamental rethink and an independent investigation into its descision making processes and corruption to regain any credibility. Not that that will happen as the top tier who would have to agree are all implicated. Turkeys voting for Christmas anyone?
