"Together I would like to scrutinize the reasons and respond. Are they are worried about a large number athletes and others from overseas spreading the coronavirus, are they against the cost, or maybe there are people who just don't like the Olympics."

Sounds like Mr. Dick Pound is being deliberately obtuse. Answer:All of the above and throw in Dentsu and IOC bribery into the mix too.

There’s a strong chance of this Olympics being a complete disaster (either for the games themselves or for the people of Japan or both) if it goes ahead and that would be devastating for the brand. Better to cut your losses this time.

Is this man an idiot? Of course people are concerned about the impact of an international sporting event in the middle of a global pandemic, and of course they are concerned about the ridiculous costs of holding it. For the Japanese public there are 0 benefits to holding the olympics, just more debt. Seems like the UK and Germany are the only ones being sensible, which is ironic.

All he needs to do is close his pockets and open his eyes

Senior International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound says he wants to examine the reasons behind the Japanese public's concerns about hosting the Games this summer after recent polls showed around 80% were opposed to the event going ahead in July.

If you want to look into something worth examining you'd be better off trying to figure out what on Earth the other 20% are thinking.

Senior International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound says he wants to examine the reasons behind the Japanese public's concerns about hosting the Games this summer after recent polls showed around 80% were opposed to the event going ahead in July.

Well, Dick Pound, let us count the ways, Dick Pound.

"I know there are those in Japan who question holding the event," Pound told the Asahi newspaper in comments published Wednesday in Japanese.

"Together I would like to scrutinize the reasons and respond.

Thank you for taking the time to do this, Dick Pound.

Are they are worried about a large number athletes and others from overseas spreading the coronavirus,

Yes, Dick.

are they against the cost,

Yes, Dick.

or maybe there are people who just don't like the Olympics."

Yes. Whew, that was riveting stuff, Dick Pound. Where did you come up with such ideas?

Pound also appealed for people to take the feelings of athletes into consideration, noting that they had put in many years of work in order to step onto sport's biggest stage.

I put many years into paying my bills, and trying to stay alive, so what, Dick Pound?

He said the decision on whether the Games go ahead this summer must be made by May at the latest and stressed that another delay was not possible.

Good, why wait? I mean the decision was already made last year, when THE ENTIRE PLANET WAS INTRODUCED TO THE CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19, Dick Pound.

"Personally, I think it's possible to hold the Games this summer," Pound said. "Several vaccines have been developed and people in the world are being vaccinated. The risk of coronavirus infection can be reduced."

That's good, Dick Pound. But here's the problem. Do you see any regular tax payers, outside of front line medical staff getting the vaccine yet? Not me.

I don't know about you Dick Pound, but after that detailed investigation, I'm pretty beat. My head is throbbing from so much brain wave activity. I think I will lie down and think long and hard about how to further release the buildup of pressure from all these negative thoughts about the Olympics.

Thank you, Dick Pound.
