Wasn't this obvious months ago? How about the GoTo Travel program? What are / were they thinking?!

There is no thinking in those circles , but they have got all the money, and I am capable of thinking, but don’t have any money. That’s all. So simple and easy it is.

It is quite unfortunate but since the beginning Suga made it clear that his government would be ignoring the opinion of scientific experts, tiny unimportant things like a pandemic out of control are not going to change that.

Go To Trouble is over.
Now they are looking at Tokyo 2032, the next available date.
The Lords of the Rings will have to tighten their ample belts.

I love sports. I love watching sports. I love watching the Olympics.
But in Japan, it has been years of media frenziness, with everything done more or less linked to the Olympics, as 2020 was a target for many economic and noneconomic developments. Everyday was a reminder that the Olympics were coming, and a kind of national pride.
Sad for Japan and I hope the event will be postponed to 2024, if not 2032.
But fortunately, the media hype will end soon. Next will be the end of the covid media hype.

It's probably best to reestablish Olympiads with Summer and Winter Games during the same year again like they used to. Tokyo has put too much money and resources into this, even down to the crappy pop singers who will be singing their stupid pop songs and the all the cheap overchoreographed rubbish. But this virus has put everything on the skids and we need to handle that first. It's our Number One. Colleges and NFL and MLB teams in America have been playing with players sick and the teams are not at their best. We need to cool our jets until CoVid is over.
