Good for them. They were a good team this year and barely lost to Sweden and Switzerland despite outshooting them both.

Great job Japan. I still don't feel it was fair to have someone who claims another country as home and then comes back just for the games and claim the other country as home. That is not being fair and a form of cheating. Granted it was a US citizen/ Korean Citizen, if I was the US I would kick this person out and remove the dual nationality. Either your American or Korean. Kudos for Japan in keeping to tradition and representing an all Japan team.  What was the ending all about with the SKorean coach pretty miffed at the NKorean coach for pulling out the goalie to the field and leaving the goal empty, good call...

Kim won't be happy with his NK players when they get home

United they fall, divided they stand.

Unified Korea team? Don’t these guys threaten to annihilate each other every other week? Whats gunna happen once the games are over?

I fully understand the SK coach was mad with the NK coach

Did they really have 2 coach giving different instructions? Lol i should have watched that.

the North Korean cheerleaders jumped from their seats in the most uncoordinated moves they've made yet.

Sounds like some hockey players and cheerleaders are going to be getting some re-education from their Great Leader when they get back. Sad thing is, I'm not even joking.

The Koreans also had the added burden of playing with 12 North Koreans added to their expanded roster last month under an agreement between countries divided for seven decades.

The love-fest ends! Now that SK is faced with loosing, their northern brothers and sisters now become a burden.

faced with loosing! Oh no

Anyway the Canadian coach of the mixed Korea hockey team hadn't expected an improvement with the pairing so it wasn't going to be wins and goals that were significant for the team, just the idea of working together

You can bet that Kim will be taking all the credit if and when they do win a match!

I agree japan played well, better than I expected, but the game against Korea was their worst.  They did not narrowly loose from Sweden and Switserland, they were firmly beaten.

I fully understand the SK coach was mad with the NK coach for taking out the goalie , with 2 goals behind and 2 minutes to play that is madness, you only do that when you are one goal down.

Having said all that, i think, japan would have had a hard time winning against the planned South Korean team. Might have been close.

Bravo Zulu to the Japanese hockey team!

You obviously don't understand ice hockey with a comment like that. You can and people have successfully taken the goalie out with 4 goals down and ended up winning the game! It does not matter at all if you lose by 2 goals or 3 goals. Of course you take out the goalie to get a power play.

Well done Japan! Completely outplayed the United Korea team.

Was good of them to give the Korean team their first Olympic goal, but I don’t think that’ll be enough to save the NK players from the punishment they will receive for losing once they get back to NK.

Interesting that Japanese aren't noticing that the flags being waved are the Liancourt Rocks version.
