What's with all the jumping on the podium?

Maybe she's exciting from winning the gold medal.

Yeah I'd be pretty happy. Good on her I say. It's something to be extremely proud of.

I love her best jump and smile on the podium.

I am amazed at the power that she has in that (relatively) tiny body of her's, 155CM and weighs less than 50kg.

Congratulations to her on winning her 2nd gold medal at these Olympics!

Similar reaction to Hanyu’s approach to the podium. Readers were half half on his injury overcoming performance on pain killers and lack of modesty.

Screw that. Given all that Hanyu got through to win gold, I kind of liked his flourish leap to the podium. He deserved it.

His laugh and gesture after the jump showed genuine joy and wasn’t gloating at all imo.

That was some impressive finish! Two gold medals for Nana. Congratulations.

Good for her!

Ignore the usual naysayers, winning a gold medal is exciting.

cracaphat: "Japanese men got no game. All but one gold is from the women.Just lack conjou."

There are always people who spout such nonsense. I'd say the same if it were the men who won all the golds and people were diminishing the men's performances. Heck, if I said it only "proves the women's field is less competitive" it would make people angry, because that is likewise hogwash. Everyone did their best, and that's all that matters. I doubt you want to talk about how inferior female figure skaters are because Japanese men did better. See?

Anyway, great on Takagi!

Wow, incredible win! Congrats!

It is nice of the Dutchwoman to clap.

Takagi's race reminded me of Japan's Keirin bicycle race in which the similar strategy is often seen - a small racer hide behind big ones during the race to avoid winds and to save his stamina and in the last corner storms an open course if there is.

She may be small for big western sizes, but Nana-chan has super powerful legs that are pure muscle! She is now a world superstar, but will always be a Hokkaido girl. Fastest skater in the world, and along with the other Japanese skaters, the prettiest too. Omedetou, Nana-chan!!

Excellent! Thanks for inspiring us with your great skating and fight!

Haters gonna hate. It's all envy.

This was one of the most exciting races to watch with Takagi only pulling ahead out of the final turn. I got chills watching it. Highly recommended minogashi.

Why is the silver medalist so pissed off?

socrateos, yer, she does not to happy does she? they are all worthy medal contenders, but gold is best, but not every one can win gold, and its a bitter pill to come second or third

Haters gonna hate. It's all envy.

So very True. Especially people from a certain country starting with "C", that is to the north of USA. Their team performed badly, they are jealous, that Japan had a record breaking olympics.Dont take it out on Japan

Why is the silver medalist so pissed off?

Ha ha, She thought she just had to show up to get gold! lol!! I guess she hadnt reckoned being schooled by the worlds fastest skater, Nana-chan!!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

the worlds fastest skater, Nana-chan!!

The world fastest skater is Nao Kodaira, the Gold medalist of 500 meter, shortest on the ice.
