If you'll pardon the pun, she certainly bounced back.

She captured Japan's second bronze of the games but said she has some regrets.

She shouldn't, she's been behind the Norwegian all year. Thought Lundby was lucky to get first spot after her first jump but her 2nd attempt was very impressive. Takanashi's bronze is a good result (was expecting a bit better from the others though).

As an aside, starting to get frustrated with J coverage. It's all about 'fun' sports (snowboard, freestyle etc where J athletes do well) and figure skating and not much (well close to nothing actually) alpine skiing nor biathlon which are winter Olympic staple. I get that J athletes suck at those disciplines but I don't think we should get the same event (hockey last night if i remember well) on 2 networks or Hanyu at training, Takanashi's childhood i.o live action elsewhere. Would be p***ed off if i were Takagi or the young J freestyler who both got medals last night yet zero airtime!

No kidding. As I said on another thread, I had to turn my TV off because while ski jumping was live they kept showing Japan's speed-skating silver race, in its entirety, over and over again and talking about how great it was (none of the same enthusiasm for the woman who got gold). Did they even broadcast Takahashi's jump in the end, or was it just a highlight while Takagi's speed skating aired for the 30th time?

Must have watched a different channel. ALL I saw was Takagi's win.

@smithie, in Kansai it was all about ski jumping. Watched the other events online.

goldorak: I'm in Kansai. I didn't check any other channels, though.

smithinjapan: At least you should do "Sara Takanashi" the honor of spelling her name correctly. It totally gives the impression that you're the typical foreigner who thinks that all Japanese names are the same. Or, it gives the impression of you not even knowing anything about Ms. Takanashi and just used her to bolster your rant.

Too bad Takanashi's peak forms aren't during Olympics
