Just like in Sochi Olympics. Made everyone impressed with a very high mark and got the top spot in the short program. Love this guy. Goodluck on the free skating. GO YUZU!

Heartbreaker Hanyu looks unbeatable for the Gold - it was hilarious seeing him get showered with Winnie-the-poohs from his adoring fans - mostly Senior Japanese ladies!

I have to admit, I found myself feeling nervous before he went on and was sure I would see him drop from the ankle injury. Glad he put that nervousness to rest and proved why is one of the best in the sport. He's got a pretty serious point advantage, and his fellow skater under the same coach, and Uno, are also doing extremely well... he just needs to keep it up.

He's still got it!

I really liked the Four Seasons -Spring to which Uno skated. Very exciting for Japan.

Yuzuru is on another level and the scores don't accurately reflect how great he was over the competition yesterday. The long program will be added pressure for Yuzuru though, as he stumbled a few times in Sochi for the long after setting a world record in the short (but still won the gold medal).

Best of wishes to a once in a lifetime skater/athlete.

I did like the Spaniard Fernandez a lot also.

I don't know much about the Figure Skating rule, but I watch figure skate competition on TV whenever it was shown on TV. His choice of music was very good and perfectly matches with his performance today. He performed flawless.

Hopefully, he will win the Olympic Championship.

If Hanyu or Fernandez wins, which looks likely, that'll be 3 in a row for their coach Brian Orser.

Had an official company break so all staff could view Yuzuru Hanyu dazzling performance.

In all honestly I am not a fan of ice skating, all the same  Yuzuru Hanyu did deliver!

Genius.

Both Japanese competitors (and some of the new wave of competitors coming up as well as those nearing the ends of their Olympic careers) were thrilling to watch. It's a tight race, and when skaters in the top tier are throwing quads around like confetti much can go wrong in a millisecond. At this point everything depends on flawless performances and touching the hearts of the audience (judges).

Hanyu.....there, that's better. All I'm gonna hear from my Family, my students and the Japanese media for the next ten days or so. Thought I'd get in early.

Would you rather have them riot in the streets and vandalize like the sports fans of certain other nations?

Good for him, but I am glad I'm not watching Japanese TV. Personally I prefer the other Japanese skater - I'd rather see him win. Somehow, when I see Hanyu skate, he's clearly good, but it's as if I'm watching the ladies.

And what happened to Chen? He had an 'Asada Mao' moment?

CAN still only 3rd... that should improve.

As per Olympic rules, the Winnie the Pooh should not have been allowed in the arena because it is a political statement.

Ask the Chinese government. Or google "winnie the pooh, Xi Jinping"
