It seems her Twitter abusers cannot distinguish the difference between the nation and the president.

Ironicaly, that is an astonishingly un-American way of thinking

She's expressing what many Americans feel. Several bands and athletic teams wouldn't come to the White house last year because Donald Trump got in by illegal means, he's arrogant, racist, sexist, corrupt, treasonous, vain, pompous, selfish, and a criminal. He is the scourge of America and we need to show the world that Americans are not like him and that TRUMP DOES NOT REPRESENT AMERICA IN ANY WAY. If I were an athlete or some kind of champion I wouldn't want to be in the same building as this scumdog either. Note from that now-iconic picture how even Pope Francis didn't look too happy standing next to this evil man.

The only countries worth living in are ones where you are free to express your dislike of the leaders.

The US is one of the better countries.

The Trump administration and their supporters are the anti-American element. The Trump administration is a CRIME SYNDICATE -- that is why they are dismantling the federal government. Trump is the GODFATHER -- that is why he demands loyalty.

It's a shame a lot of uninformed "punks" are voicing their approval of Vonn's confused two cents worth of opinion. But understandably, there is no more sour-grape hatred than what comes out of the left side of the spectrum. Can't we all get along?

She should just do what many other athletes do and take the high road when people criticize her on the internet. This is just the age we live in and many trolls on the internet make it their sole duty to make other people angry. She is more successful than any of these nobodies will ever be and she should realize that. Some celebrities/sports players need training on how to handle the media/internet haters.

Trump does represent America.

So does Vonn.

Unfortunately for Vonn, Trump is the president. I was ashamed of my country when a racist black nationalist like Obama was president too. But then I am not a famous athlete/celebrity like her so my freedom of expression only riled up a few of my fellow JT forum members.

Vonn chose to alienate half her home country by getting into politics. With the polarization that she herself is now contributing to how can she be surprised that many would prefer that she lose an essentially meaningless race? I hope she safely navigates the course for a respectable fourth place finish.

Trump does represent America.

So does Vonn.

Wrong. Trump is a bootlicker and a traitor for the Russian government of Vladimir Putin. Everything he says and does is with Putin's kudos. He DOES NOT represent America because of his treasonous collaboration. And it is the DUTY of Americans to show the world that we DO NOT support his immature racist motormouth arrogance and pompous vanity. To stay silent would be UNAMERICAN.
