Hey our mega expensive Kiwi technology beat your slightly less mega expensive technology. New Zealand wins even though the boat with two token yanks on board gets the nation honors. Good job Spithall, lets wait for the food poisoning rumors to begin.

What a comeback win for USA, no one thought they could come back from 8-1 with the down under s only needing one more win. Congratulations team Oracle USA.

Wow, what a comeback for the Americans! I thought they were dead in the water

Great job, Team USA! Still doesn't make up for Dennis Conner's historic loss but I'll take it.

Yes comeback but where were all the plaudits when the Kiwis were 8 up?

Congratulations to the Oracle team, but I think Jimmy Spithill is deluded if he thinks the "heart" his sailors showed was really a deciding factor. Oracle simply had the faster boat at the end of the regatta, I presume they were able to make improvements to it throughout. Or were his sailors just sailing the faster boat incompetently in the early races?

Good show Team New Zealand though, first time I've watched a regatta since 2003 I think. Can't wait for the next one.

Wait for the court case, do you not realise this america's cup is usually won in the court house not on the water.

Money Money Money its a rich mans game.

Oracle skipping team is funded by Billionaire yachtsman Larry Ellison. That yacht has state of art technology. It may have some advantages. In my eyes, both crews are competent and extremely hardworking. I would like to pay more credit to losing team which is competing with slower yacht with limited resources. America cup will not be the trophy of America forever.

Crucial to the US victory were several of Australia`s greatest sailors including Skipper James Spithill, strategist Tom Slingsby, wing trimmer Kyle Langford, grinders Will McCarthy and Joe Newton and coach Darren Bundock....sounds like it was more an Aussie team than a US one!....Congrats team USA and Commiserations to our NZ buddies.

Everyone of these boats are run by ultra-rich people, obviously. There's no "limited" resources. Remember years ago when the Kiwis introduced the innovative "false hull" that made their boats faster. It's simply if ones are smarter to build a faster boat and faster crew, or not.

In a multi-zilllion dollar floating billboard covered with so many corporate decals and banners that one can scarcely see what lies beneath. Pretty soon the competitors will have to tattoo their sponsor's logos on their faces.

I preferred watching the earlier races where boats looked like boats, and the prize was just a silver cup and bragging rights.

@bluetooth. I think Russell Coutts and NZ designer Tim Smyth might disagree with you on that. A victory for NZ boat designers either way you look at it. Just imagine of TNZ hadn't had their foiling technology handed over to all by the "impartial" race measurement team.

These are not yachts anyway they are just flimsy catamarans. When they stopped racing real yachts and started using loopholes to bring in different kinds of boats, that was when the Americas Cup stopped being worth a damn.

Comeback? yeah Oracle implemented a new computer assisted stability system. that allowed them to have net gain of 100 secs when sailing up wind as it allowed them to foil consistently up wind. ETNZ was screwed from that point on as Oracle had become unbeatable except in light winds, but even then the 40min time limit could save them. comeback? a hollow comeback, mainly due to tech and not skill. Winning ugly is still winning. So well done Oracle, you won.

Either way it was exciting stuff to watch, regardless of the final outcome.

Talk about a sayonara home run, though. An unbelievable result!
