Australian Open players tire of Djokovic saga

They are not the only ones. Deport him and be done with it.

thank you Nadal, my respect has grown even more for this guy.

As he put it. all he had to do was get vaxxed,

Nadal is double vaxxed.

man those antivaxxers just keep on losing, looks like Nadal may be the 1st to 21 slams

Very talented player but full of pride (different kind). Law is law deport him. The law was set before his visa was set. He/his agent provided false info. He could have avoided all this saga just by being more humble to immigration officials. Learn from Federer, Sampras, Nadal, Stefi so on...

ND thought he saw a loophole and went for it. It nearly worked...

Djokovic, although an amazing player, has a history of being irritating. He’s always bent the rules to his advantage, shown arrogance, and poked fun at other players. With this recent covid debacle he’s been deceitful, irresponsible, and selfish, not just in Australia but in many instances.

The other players are clearly tired of his games and would relish the extra chances they’ll have if he doesn’t play. I can’t imagine many tears being shed for Novak.

Whilst languishing in detention Novak Djokovic could take a deep breath and choose what legacy a true tennis great wants to leave his sport?

This totally unnecessary fiasco could damage Novak Djokovic professional reputation beyond repair.

Alex Hawke: "Mr Djokovic’s presence in Australia may pose a health risk to the Australian community, in that his presence in Australia may foster anti-vaccination sentiment leading to other unvaccinated persons refusing to become vaccinated, other unvaccinated persons being reinforced in their existing view not to become vaccinated, and/or a reduction in the uptake of booster vaccines.”

In their own words, this is about compliance with mandatory government medical intervention, plain and simple.

Many people don’t really care so much about the tennis or what the poor little rich tennis players think in their incessant press conferences. Not everyone is sport fixated like Australians. They actually find the political immigration ball game far more interesting.

For every player getting headlines for supporting the tyrants, there are at least 10 on twitter denouncing the process. No.1 and No.2 of those are Medvedev and Zverev who according to seeding, have the most to gain by Djokovic's absence. Nadal supports the tyrants which is a par for the course. If a 4th player drops out due to breathing difficulties, it for be karma for it to be Nadal.

Even in the unlikely event Nadal finishes ahead of Djokovic in any important metric, the sycophant will never get over being on social media showing off his US$1 mil watch while Djokovic was organizing a fund (which Nadal refused to contribute to) for the lower ranked players when the tour was cancelled due to the virus and paying the most into it personally.

Djokovic is a good, humble guy from Serbia. That's why the ruling classes hate him and condition the general public to do the same.

Alex Hawke's reasons for cancelling Djokavic's visa are all kinds of disturbing.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Much respect to the Australians. I still think they should remain on total lockdown with no one in or out of the country until Covid19 is 100% eradicated. It's about saving lives. The rest of the world can do as they please and travel, but the Australians definitely should do the right thing and stay in their homes and in their country.

What a spectacle Djokovic has made of himself. And his follies have overshadowed his sport now and not for the better obviously. He is a buffoon and an admitted liar. He applied for his visa when he was positive for COVID. Just amazingly arrogant and stupid. But not atypical of the anti-science crowd which he now has become the WW leader. Guess he replaces Kyrie Irving, who also believed the earth was flat until recently.

If Nadal wins he better not forget to thank Alex Hawke for his contribution.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt....Lincoln

Novak Djokovic could have taken a step back he chose otherwise.

Now he will have to face the political outcome.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Not Lincoln (sorry to be that guy), but absolutely correct. This debacle is of his own making. He will never be respected as Federer and Nadal are.

I assume the 3 judges concern will be very happy. One of them had go home to Willcanya ( true ) for some sort of reunion and got called in. Another had fly from Brisbane. They will enjoy the Fact that Hawke waited until 4:00 pm on Friday plus Hawke know the fact that his legal team stated at the first hear that they we appeal in his visa is cancel again. Also the three judge know the fact that the Government were given warning if they did cancel his visa again he won’t be happy. So judges are now are in Very joyous mood. Plus they know that the defendant monica is the Joker. I think the main concern for the judges is the world Media headlines if they upheld the decision. The Joker escape Deportation.

Any chance of a three-year ban on top of that? Let's face it, if he weren't rich or famous, he would never have been let in in the first place. I've seen Border Security: Australia's Front Line.

Could be Mark Twain, funkymofo, either way.

Novak Djokovic will have to present himself to the immigration authorities of France, French Open May 22nd, UK, Wimbledon Jun 27th, and the US Open, August 29th.

Now here the political consequences could present themselves front center.

Djokovic and his family - all seem to suffer from similar lack of aptitude.

He failed to vaccinate, falsified documents and needs, at a minimum, to be sent back to Monte Carlo or Dubai.

Djokovic is a vapid drama queen and simply needs to be sent packing, if unable to follow rules & regulations.

Exactly!!! The falsification of documents in itself is enough grounds for deportation! Can’t blame human error for a simple question that he falsely answered! It’s just amazing that even a non citizen has so much power to fight deportation in Australia even though he is in the wrong!

I lost all respect for Djikovic when I saw him exposing children to his infection on December 16-17 after testing positive for Covid! Infected and didn’t even wear a mask when in he should have been in isolation!

He did this to try and cement his legacy but he may have destroyed it instead.

He's already a famous antivaxer, now he's a liar and a cheat too.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Now he's famous even outside of tennis.

He was probably considered a hero in his home country, what would his countrymen think of him now?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Of course there will always be like minded fans that will forever worship him so there is that

Novak has always been a jerk. Like Maya Angelou said “When someone shows you who they are, believe him”

An embarrassment, a bad representative.

He's behaving like a spoiled diva and as for his legacy and reputation, he did it to himself. This vaxx issue and the safety of others is a matter of common sense and respect for others and Djokovic is showing none of these things. Not champ, CHUMP.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The players need to tell the tournament that they will simply not play Djokovic unless the woman player who was deported despite having the same exemption for the same reason but who obeyed the isolation rules after testing positive and didn't travel, is playing too
