Isn't this the same clown who was flying about the world while the rest of us were grounded during COVID? Just another grifter.

One of the GOATS of athletics - that is not open to debate.

As a politician, not a massive fan of Lord Coe - but he has always remained strong against Russia participating while they are waging war against Ukraine, so that is a massive plus in his favor. If he wins the Presidency and keeps Russia out for another couple of Olympic cycles, all well and good.

It is all done since 2021. Towards the outside world Mr Bach and Mr Coates pretend to have differences with Sir Coe but actually they have made a deal.

sir Coe gets the IOC Presidency and Mr Coates got Brisbane 2032. Mr Bach will be heavily involved in Brisbane 2032 as soon as his IOC term ends.

Sir Coe is an ambitious selfinterested politician who will continue to only serve himself as IOC President. He has not improved athletics in any way since his tenure and will leave his successor there with deep financial worries

He's a hard one to call. Probably not as bad as Bach, and for sure he was among the elite of the middle distance runners in his era. His stance on Russia does somewhat balance out the fact that he's a tory.

If he does go for the IOC job, though, I would enjoy seeing a mass spamming of the "I hate Sebastian Coe!" bit from The Day Today. Just because.

"Lord Coe" not "Sir Coe" not that I care one way or the other.

As long as he deals with doping by “certain” countries and gets the dope out of the games or the offenders out of the Olympics.

Well John,

he did not get doping out of athletics and that is only one sport. Athletics today survives by the grace of one country. Japan.

the global tv rights are with TBS and 80 % of the global partners are Japanese

hence the WC 2025 in Tokyo.

I’d never trust him after how poorly he treated Steve Ovett just because he was from a common family. He is also very far right in his believes and was mentored for a time by the late Mrs Thatcher.
