Well done to Team China. More salty comments. Can't win, then blame everything but your own inability to win. The Chinese swimmers were tested 4-5 times more than other swimmers, including at midnight and 5am. The win was a great birthday present for Pan Zhanle.

Finally, another world record for the women's 4x100-meter medley relay team to edge out rival Australia for the top spot in the gold-medal table.

Four world records were set during the meet, three of them by the U.S.

Lol, and with that, the US not only caught up but surpassed Australia in swimming golds (the US is already assured of most total medals no matter what happens), and in world record times to boot!

And it's the US women carrying the team - Finke's gold is the first and only individual gold for the US men

Also with more golds, the US goes atop the overall Olympics table. The US already has more silver and bronze medals than any other nation's total medals!

Because there are limits to the number of contestants per country, so that it's not disadvantageous to smaller nations. For example, the US can only field 3 contestants per discipline, no matter how many more are good enough to make the Olympics

If there are no limits at all, ya can just imagine how many more US swimmers will be in the Olympic swimming pool, and how many more medals they have a chance to win, lol
