Not sure what her punishment should be but glad they found her, very very reckless her actions and luckily no very serious injuries.

Bad joke alert:

Broken bones at least heal by themselves (almost), but oh man, look at that at least 500.000 USD worth of carbon turned into scrap in an instant :( ..

I'm glad the idiot got arrested, although the punishment will most certainly not be according to the damage she's caused..

I would have thought a official or any fan standing by her would have told her to put the sign down!

according to the Guardian's report, she delivered herself to a police station, but the reports here, and on the BBC site say only that she has been arrested. the first seems to me more likely somehow.....

She should get the maximum jail sentence and have to pay all the damages.

What is inherently female about holding a sign

doesnt it mean she was selfish?

not sure of your argument there

The Tour, bicycling and France can blame this woman, but there were additional accidents caused by the riders themselves, some of them top riders, as the crowding of the road and jostling for position is a problem for competitive cycling.

This woman was stupid, but the underlying cause is cycling has always had spectators lining the road, running with the bikes and getting close to the riders as a ubiquitous optic. This combined with the over zealous bikers themselves is a recipe for accidents, of which we are seeing.

It is the sport of cycling and in particular the organizers of the Tour de France who are in need of accountability, as this woman's causing an accident is just a symptom and I think she's being used as a bit of a scapegoat, in spite of her egregious actions.

She caused a major wreck and her sign hit the lead edge of the main peloton, so the impact was huge and it was easy to say look at what this idiot did, but the blame is not completely on her.

It was such a huge deal to find this woman, interpol, Mi6, the CIA and every satellite and facial recognization system on earth was used to find this fugitive! They even looked for her among the Uyghurs, but luckily found her in France!
