This is what happens when you have local governments that take the COVID19 situation seriously. Their lives are almost back to normal.

It’s Anzac Day in Australia - a day where playing 2-up is legal, & drinking beer & watching the footy is part of our national culture.

Well, when you've been responsible with lockdowns, vaccines, and more, you can afford to do this. No doubt this headline hurts the hearts of Koike and others who know they are going to have to play to a crowd less Olympics if they have it at all.

When Collingwood loses there’s always something to celebrate!!!

I should just point out that the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) reported in the article was the main stadium for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

Some other buildings were constructed for those Games, but an existing structure was used for the main events.

No gazillions spent on buildings for the Olympics in those days.

That’s why only punters can make the transition from Aussie footy to American pro football. Aussie players might be game, but it just comes down to body size and physics when you play American football. And I can do without those silly grins on a ref’s face after a score in Aussie rules, thanks.

There is much more to American football than body size. There is technique, speed, strength, and strategy too. During a game, the smart players who made it into the NFL change their technique over time, so the other side can't predict what each player will try. Same as in other sports. But if you aren't fairly large of body, you'll not play on the line (offensive/defensive). Someone who weighs more doesn't always win on the line. That can be seen on almost every play of a game.

As with most sports, a casual observer would miss many aspects of the game. The same can be said about footy, right?

Fu right. That’s why only punters can make the transition from Aussie footy to American pro football.
