The warning from International Paralympic Committee president Andrew Parsons

The head of the Paralympics seems to have much more common sense than the head of the regular Olympics. Put athletes before profits.

I seem to recall the IOS trying to push ahead with the Olympics for a long time after it became clear that Covid had made it a non starter.

So, basically it will have to be cancelled. How can anyone guarantee the virus won't be present? It'll be hard if not impossible to get affordable insurance for the event with a guarantee like that; there would have to be a waiver that relieving the IPC and the government of any liability should any participant catch the virus and become ill/die from it.

Tokyo itself is spiking, and we haven't even gotten to the flu season yet, so I don't see how this is going to work..

seems the IPC may well do what the Canadians did this spring!! A shot across the bow of the games has now been fired!
