It ain’t pretty… but I sympathize with the anti–establishment sentiment…; … I was never a big fan of blind patriotism anyway…;
and they’re not alone…, we’ve seen this movie too many times…: millions of working–class people have been let down by their incompetent leaders…;
and… I also agree that you can still have values (and respect your history/who you are) without Kings and Queens.

No one requires them to be ardent royalists but they don’t have to make such a public display of their boorish bad manners.

The royal family and the Tory government have few concerns over the people of Liverpool so resentment is expressed when they are supposed to be obedient citizens.
It is football, and fans pay to go and watch a game, not stand for the national anthem.
I watched the game and it was only a small section that booed.
Liverpool City acknowledged its link with slavery and built a museum about it. The royal family has never acknowledged their connection to slavery or the vast wealth they earned from it.
It was Thatcher and The Sun which changed the attitude of many Scousers.

I enjoyed the Liverpool game much more than the coronation.

So, Liverpool complied with the FA’s desire to have the national anthem played to respect the coronation of Charles.
Some Liverpool supporters made their opposition clear.
I don’t see the problem here.

The cool reception and in some quarters hostility to the dreary solipsistic dirge of "God Save Our Gracious King ...etc. etc." is understandable given that Liverpool is a working-class town whose people are fully aware of what the English ruling-class and their cult of the monarchy has not done for them. Loyalty cuts both ways.

Meanwhile, up in Glasgow.

Very good news..
LOL..
Fighto!
It's a democracy and Liverpool fan's right to boo God Save The King. It was 100% inevitable with the way Liverpool has been treated over the years by the government, media and Establishment. Glasgow Celtic fans would do exactly the same thing too.

What could possibly be achieved here, the stadium in wild adoration, throwing themselves into a impromptu combined oath of allegiance to King Charles III and Camilla, whilst singing the national anthem.
Liverpool?
The impact from the cost of living crisis has left the City region, households struggling in poverty.
Tone deaf and tin eared.

Let them eat coronation quiche

Kings and queens in 21st century! These so called royals should be ashamed of themselves as their familiies have been the cause of misery all over the world. Right now their role in the society is just of a burden. They don't contribute in any way other obstructing public's normal day to day activities. They also suck u our tax dollars/pounds without even doing anything. Shame on their royalness!

Who even cares what a few scousers (with an obvious inferiority complex) think.
