I can imagine a lubricant company sponsoring a curling team; the rest of the merchandise from the EasyToys website does not seem like a good fit! :)

Sodane.” - Japan’s “Mogu-mogu taimu” Women’s Curling Team were particularly cute throughout the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. Would watch ANY product or ad they’d be endorsing!

This is pretty funny actually.

Harder, harder!

Rub harder and make it slide easier. Curling toes since time began.

Actually on Googling this I have to say this is an incredibly stupid controversy - the ads in question are just name of the company itself without any sort of visual indication of what they sell at all or anything else that on its face would seem even remotely objectionable. What an idiotic thing to get so upset about.

Too racy for Curling? Say it isn't so! Curling, the Winter Olympics version of Male Synchronized Swimming.

Women's curling is definitely the highlight of the winter olympics.

It should be promoted more, by any means necessary.

Idk what the rest of the sporting events are even for.

Just goes to show, there’s no way to make curling sexy….

How very Dutch.

And how very American.

What don’t understand is why the Japanese broadcaster pulled the plug.

Beanie: "What don’t understand is why the Japanese broadcaster pulled the plug."

Japan's lost three out of four games. That should say enough. If it were Soft On Demand showing rape porn ads, or busty anime teenagers bending over it'd be totally fine here, though.

Don't go too heavy with the hammer!

Prudes! Ha!!

Great site, though. Thanks, JT!

With sex shops everywhere in Japan, and an annual penis festival to boot, these comments are mostly a hoot!

Penis to boot” - Bravo, mate!

Local organizers of the Olympic Qualification Event in the Netherlands said they were told that on-ice ads with the EasyToys name and nonexplicit logo were too much for the U.S. audience. Dutch media reported that the livestream was also canceled in Japan.

Pathetic given that the US and Japan have huge porn industries, two of the biggest in the world.

The real issue is - I can imagine a child seeing the broadcast and getting curious about those so easy toys.

@beanie, I wish i could edit your comment, I would put "Butt" in there some where, haha, since there was no pictures of any toys imbeded in the ice, only the co name, whats the problem? didnt Japan have very explicit mens mags on lower shop shelf? only back in august 2020 but Lawsons family mart and seven eleven had the decency to stop selling mens mags on the run up to the rugby and the olympics, and some of the content is based on school girls, anamie uniforms etc, so why have the Japanese gone super sensitive over just a name?

NHK decided not the air the matches either for fear that it would somehow violate its commitment to "good taste and moderation".
