Blind Freddie knew this years ago.

He also knew Qatar bribed their way to getting the WC in the first place

So FIFA has known about these issues for over ten years but repeatedly fails to take any disciplinary actions or revoke their host status.

This kind of exploitation and racism seems all to common in Qatar and U.A.E.

The Gulf States have always had a poor reputation when it comes to labor rights and the health and safety of employees. For example, it took Dubai years to implement laws that forbade construction workers to work between noon and 4~5pm in the summer months even though the people were dropping like flies from the intense heat. Nobody should have to work in 52 degrees C heat; it's inhumane. Then there's the issue of their living conditions - also appalling. I haven't been back there for years but I hope the working conditions have improved.

Please stop such bad actions.

Qatar World Cup organizers admit workers were exploited:

No new revelation.

Workers everywhere are being exploited, not just in Qatar, it is a matter of degree.

No need to say that again, it is of no avail. Hence, what is the admission for..?

the world has imposed sanctions over forced labour in Xinjiang so why aren't they doing the same with Qatar?

there has been reports that over 6500 migrant workers died! we should be boycotting the world cup!

The unsung heros of all that Architectural genius is the army of Third Country Nationals that built the place (Dubai & Qatar)....and died there doing it.

world community stands for democracy and western values should act and if not cancel than fully boycott this championship.

withdraw teams if world cup in Qatar will be not cancelled.

impose sanctions against Qatar.

punish Qatar for not being democratic society with our values and without democracy system of elections and so on.

punish them for abusing of people and not care about human rights.dont need to mention womens equal rights and than gay and LGBT people as well.

i expect sponsors based in worlds democratic states to withdraw their support as well.

i expect all of this from world democratic society and democratic states-as long as they REALLY standing for their values universally.no difference China,Russia,Iran or Qatar.

sooner-better.

The acknowledgement of failings came after an investigation by Amnesty International which said security guards were forced to work in conditions it called “forced labor" by exceeding the 60-hour maximum work week and not having a day off for months or even years.

Ths article is approcahing peak late stage capitalist slavery dystopia but the neo-liberal market apologists will be here to say it is a wonderful thing?

FIFA is corrupt, makes $$billions from hard works of workers & players while it is considered to be a non profit org., yet, its top dogs abuse power. Money should be invested in developments of sport include well being of players, associates, and education of all fields in spirit of sport. Those had hands in corrupt acts must be punished, put on black list is a joke. Demand WC be hosted elsewhere. Idea that WC takes years to prepare is lie so FIFA makes themselves look important and hard working group. Exploitation of those who cannot fight because their lives depend on daily works earning living otherwise face hardship is insanely despicable.

This kind of exploitation and racism seems all to common in Qatar and U.A.E.

Those nations and others in the region have a long bad history of having foreign workers from the Philippines, Orient, etc. to work there and get exploited. This practice has to stopped.

Qatar World Cup organizers have admitted that workers were exploited while contracted for FIFA's preparation tournaments in the Gulf State.

FIFA will take care of this.

@Eastman - a very long attempt at satirical whataboutery, but you never make the make the point very clearly. I imagine you are trying to conflate the exploitation of workers in Qatar with treatment of Muslims in China or the murder of Ukranians by Russia, or some such nonsense so that you can scream "hypocrisy". Am I right or am I right

Gonna be the best world cup ever......
