Rangers FC has to take action to save face but 95% of Rangers supporters would do the same thing as these morons. Rangers supporters not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

The most racist sport in the world continuing to show its true colors.

There are derby games and there is the Old Firm. Rangers is traditionally Protestant. Celtic is traditionally Catholic. The divide is sectarian and deep.

An abusive song is the least of your worries. In the past, managers have had to be separated by the police. The tackles date from the 1970s. When Gazza riled the Celtic fans there were reports of death threats from the IRA.

Rangers v. Celtic is war with a ball. Not for the faint-hearted.

The most racist sport in the world continuing to show its true colors.

Ridiculous hyperbole. How can a sport be racist?

5 ( +10 / -5 )

This sport is indeed a racist sport. Not much heard in other sports. But i wonder why even non fans want to watch the players kicking the ball here and there on the grass for over 2 hours and for many games throughout the year. Don't waste your precious time on that, better explore the real adventures outside.

This is another reason (along with the fact I was always terrible at playing) why I have absolutely no interest in football. No other sport on the face of this earth brings out so much racism.

The chant in question was originally sung to ex-Celtic player Shunsuke Nakamura some years ago (without punishment). The lyrics start with 'Furuhashi ate my dog, ate my dog' to the tune of 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'.

They're as stupid as they are racist.

One more instance where Rangers show themselves as one of the most despicable football clubs in the world. While Celtic were already pushing for becoming more inclusive over the decades, Rangers remained and still are a prime example of bigotry.

And by the way, I hope Celtic will stuff them on Sunday.

The most racist sport in the world continuing to show its true colors.

It has its problems, sport.

Then again, I don’t think a tiny minority of idiots represents the ‘true colors’ of the sport, does it?

@Pukey2

Anyone who chooses as a group to behave like destructive bigots deserve to be called as they are: barbarians and vandals. And as far as everyone concerned, Rangers fans have earned their bad reputation themselves.

@ ClippetyClop

Either you don't have any clue about what the Old Firm is or you're a Rangers fan. Let me be clear about this. Rangers supporters have been notoriously known for standing up alongside backwards socio-political stances over the decades: discrimination against the Catholic minority, supporting Thatcher-like politics, making Nazi salutes in Israel, making monkey gestures against black players, and so on. Their history is filled with such crap, so you better not lecture me as to why I should or should not despise such football club.

Not shocked at all to read about Rangers supporters stooping this low. Sadly it seems to be their form.

Kyogo is playing brilliantly! Excellent signing by Ange. I remember the days of Nakamura playing for Celtic, he was great to watch too.

There is a two part documentary on Glaswegian comedian Billy Connolly in which he makes some very interesting comments about some typical Rangers supporters and their behaviour. The profound observations have broader applications in this world. Billy Connolly is a Celtic supporter. He now has Parkingson's Disease and is retired from performing.

Either you don't have any clue about what the Old Firm is or you're a Rangers fan.

But I’ll try again. I’m a fan of neither team. I’m aware of The Old Firm, in fact I saw a game at Ibrox 25 years ago.

Bigotry and sectarianism is not exclusive to Rangers. As you well know as a Celtic fan.

The most racist sport in the world continuing to show its true colors.

The good things don't make the headlines, like when Saka got a standing ovation by Brentford fans to show support after the racist abuse he got this summer. You're not very smart.

This article was about Rangers fans but the comments have swiftly become how wonderful Celtic fans are in comparison.

This of course is nonsense as Celtic fans in the main are just as moronic as Rangers fans; and the sectarian divide between the two is something that neither understand, they're all just lemmings.

Celtic & Rangers: same s**t, different package.

Why don’t the teams in Scotland join the EPL? Hardly a competitive league with only two teams.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Sounds like a take on the one Man U fans used to sing to Park Sung Ji when he played at United.

He shoots he scores... he eats labradors .....Par sung Ji ....

United never had a problem.

@Japantime

Are you suggesting all 42 teams in the Scottish League join the 20 team English Premier League?

How would that work exactly?

I don't want to answer for him, but they wouldn't be joing the 20 members of the EPL, they'd be joining the 92 clubs of the English league. Celtic & Rangers would do well, Aberdeen, maybe the Dundee & Edinburgh clubs might do okay in the Championship. A whole raft of PL Scottish clubs would be reduced to lower tier clubs, some of them would cease to exist. You might miss that Stewart.

Personally I'd love to see a British League with Celtic & Rangers involved. They'd be competetive and become Arab magnets, but it would ruin Scottish football outside of Glasgow forever.

Until recent years Rangers banned Catholics from joining their club. Every time Irish players join Celtic they get death threats from Rangers fans. This kind of racism is what has come to be expected from Rangers fans. Kyogo Furuhashi is an exceptionally gifted player and a great role model for young people who carries himself with great dignity and is already a legend at Celtic.

@N.Knight

You are wrong re Celtic. They are one of the most inclusive clubs in the SPL and have incredible programs helping disadvantaged communities all over the developing world (One example is an orphanage in Thailand).

Apart from that, Rod Stewart, Jim Kerr and Billy Connolly have impeccable taste, so inevitably they follow Glasgow Celtic.
