How was it "like playing Basketball", aside from the fact that Honda would probably miss critical shots all the time there, too, if not awarded penalties? I mean, can the guy complain that missing a good number of chances in the game against Iraq was like basketball because that wide open net he had the ball to kick in but kept hitting the bar is like that hoop that keeps blocking the net? haha.

Honda complained that a J-player merely had to brush an oppostion player to be penalized. Meanwhile the referee turned a blind eye to a couple of blatant yellow card offences committed against Japan.

It`s only natural that a top athlete would feel frustration when playing a game refereed by a person out of their depth.
