And...?

Respect to Australias greatest ever Olympian. Hoping that his state of mind improves now that this weight has been lifted. I have a friend who was in the closet until his late 20s - and he came close to suicide a couple times. Now he is out and happy. Wishing the same for champion Thorpedo!

Why should he have to reveal anything? It's nobody's business - not the press and not the public's - whether he is gay, straight or anything else.

Not news, not important and certainly not a surprise

A man of courage.

Good to hear he's busted through this barrirer.

Deserves at least another bronze? :-)

He's been having a very rough time and maybe this will make him feel better. I hope so. He seems like a decent lad.

And...?

And it means the media can now stop asking 'is he or isn't he?' non-stop after over a decade.

More proof that all the really attractive men are gay. Sweet revenge.

Good on the bloke as he is a role model in Australia and this will help confused teenagers, but there is a problem. In 2012 he published an autobiography in which he categorically denied being gay. He proclaimed he was straight. He was paid money for that book - a lot of money. NOW, he has been paid 400,000 AU$ for this interview. 400k to tell the small part of the world who knows who he is that he's gay. Geez, it makes it feel like a money grab and just feels wrong. But then again, he's famous and when you are famous or rich you can get away with it.
