With three sessions of play still to come on Day 5, the Three Lions have everything to play for. Stokes, Buttler, Ollie Pope, and Woakes, are proven match-winners. In crunch situations Broad, Anderson, and Robinson, they too can contribute with the willow. All the best to rival players and their fans.

I admire your positivity, but we are looking at an innings defeat, it'll be over well before tea. England have been a complete shambles.

Besides Root, England’s test team is crap.

Their batting lineup is weak & pathetic. And their bowling attack is old & slow.

Their last series win in Australia was 2010, when they spent months preparing. They had strong leadership in Strauss, & their batting chalked up huge scores.

Predicting the game will end in the first session following another abject collapse by England. Hard to believe that England spent 2 years preparing for this series. Which will end at 4 or 5 nil.

Great to have some cricket news here on JT at last, just a shame it’s when we are at our most abject!

Keep it coming please!

@atomu

thanks - well this makes their current efforts even more embarrassing. And they’re not even playing in Perth this series.

Good fightback by Butler and Woakes.

To all those who were predicting game over before tea, it ain't over till the fat lady sings and that's the beauty of test cricket.

And finally the inevitable. Buttler unlucky to trod on his stumps.

Michael Atherton was much maligned during his days but England needed an innings at par with his Jo'burg epic 26 years ago.
