Hmmmmm....... not sure I see the point. Still, I guess racism as a topic has become relevant in every walk of life these days.

@Numan - those snippets you pasted from the article are about an incident in rugby? That’s not what I’m reading.

Won't happen in Japan. They'll think it but theyll never say it

The article mentioned those events because they are probably the reasons that Maro Itoje brought up the topic. Obviously, he is comparing the similarities and differences between soccer and rugby. The similarities are what he is raising awareness of.
Here he is referring directly to Rugby.

@Numan - it’s your last statement in your first comment that doesn’t quite fit. Are you trying to say football is just as bad as rugby? There is nothing in the article to imply that rugby is bad for racism. We all know football has had major issues in the past. He hasn’t said rugby is bad or worse than football but that although it’s rare racism isn’t unheard of in the sport.

That said, he’s a lock which is why he’s talking about the issue in relation to rugby.

Football fans/supporters are mostly low class, that's why is way more racist and discriminatory than rugby fans, which are mostly from the middle-upper class. And it also much more popular around the globe, and with that much revenue money, is no mystery why it has the most dirty and corrupt leaders in the sports world.
