Rugby Top League kicks off with many big foreign names

Great to see the crowds and the foreign players and the stars from the Japan team in action. Only problem is it’s hard to get excited about a team that represents a corporation rather than an area or province or a school or university. There’s no tribal connection. For example, I may like Toshiba’s electrical products in my home, but not to the level where I feel like cheering for the manufacturer in a public place....anyway still good rugby being played.

Average attendance at all games was 14,590. Lets hope this can keep up!
