Mr Kipling
Robert has hit the nail squarely on the head. The RWC is now so 2019..... Covid 19 has erased all the enthusiasm and excitement built up by last years success. All a bit of a shame really. But quite a few ageing stars are getting a last bumper payday to run about for a year or two in Japan pre retirement.

Rugby in Japan can not financially sustain 2, let alone, 3 professional tiers in Japan. Utopic dreaming from a few rich, company rugby loving managers.
a 25 team format played over 4 months ?
with ever less licensed players, less teams at all but the pro level, this once again is madness.
some of the 16 teams in proleague now will be looking to sell out soon and the 9 others are really semi - pro teams.
rugby in japan should be a 12 team pro league and an 8 to 12 team semi pro 2nd league. One team to demote/ promote yearly. All the rest will proof to be unsustainable.
