He is totally entitled to his beliefs but if those beliefs run counter to his employers he is also free to find another job. Disgusting bigotry disguised as a religious belief. Selective bible bashing is still hate speech. Qantas Wallabies need to rip his contract up.
Andrew Crisp
Hes entitled to his opinion, they aren't of a negative nature against his employer or the sporting code he plays in so it should have no consequences from his employer.

I, for one, take equal offence at his other targets, as highlighted
drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, idolators
geronimo2006
So, unless he repents he won't get to go to rugby heaven (RWC)?

Sounds like a good night out to me.

So I guess Christianity, and Christian beliefs about how we risk damnation unless we repent of certain sins, are not part of the "inclusion and diversity" that they claim to champion.
This man hurt no one with his words. He did not call for violence or mistreatment of homosexuals, atheists, or any of the other groups he listed.
He simply stated his belief that certain sins, if not repented of and turned away from, can lead to Hell.
If these people really believed in "diversity and inclusion," they would make room for the freedom to voice those beliefs.
Strangerland
Good riddance.

I think the religious should be allowed their opinions, but I also think they’d be better off keeping the more sinister and wacky ones within their flocks.
They’d be doing themselves and the rest of us a big favour.

That this is your understanding of the Bible just shows how far from the actual lessons of Christ most Christians are. It is not 'certain sins,' it is ALL sins.
And every being on the planet has sinned, according to the Bible.
To hold one sin, or certain sins, as being different from the others is as false as praying to a certain golden calf.
But keep wallowing in ignorance.

He also lumped drunk, atheist fornicators like me in with liars and thieves. Which is not nice.
Black Sabbath
Certain sins. Like gathering sticks on the sabbath, and not banging your brother's wife is he dies.
Oh, I forgot, your "Christian beliefs' are the ones you select.
That means they ain't Christian, or 'objective." They are what you want.
And they certainly aren't what Jesus' talked about.

I think his comments were unwise given what his contract was reported to contain, namely a clause around this kind of social media post.
That said as a believer in freedom of speech, I defend his right to say what he said. I also have no issue with those who have criticised what he has said.

Slavery was protected for decades in America as it was condonned in the bible. Religious belief is no immunity from the consequences of being a dick.
