In 2009, when Tokyo last hosted a Bledisloe Cup game, a last-minute rush on tickets (both complimentary and bought) saw the crowd at the old National Stadium boosted to 44,000.

And even with that number the stadium sold out of beer before half time. The same happened again at last year's game between Japan and the Wallabies at Yokohama. They better get this right before the RWC. Lots of thirsty rugby fans won't be happy if there is no beer. Unless they run out of beer on purpose in the name of "crowd control"......

The ticket prices are crazy considering it's now a dead rubber and the stadium is so large. I would love to go but it's a big ask to pay 17,000 yen for the privilege of sitting ahead of the try lines rather than behind them.

And for once in my life I disagree with the 3pm kickoff... I would have come from Fukuoka to see this one if it was a nighter....
