Scotland referred to disputes committee over Japan match comments

It was great the game was allowed to go ahead and Japan qualified on merit by beating Scotland. It was a thriller of a game. Fans would have been deprived of such high level entertainment if it had been canceled. I have problems with the tournament's rules particularly on cancelation and why games cannot be rescheduled but I guess until the rules are changed, it is what it is.

Actually it was almost 24 hours after the typhoon not a few hours. However, I am happy that the game was played and the better team moved onto the quarter finals.

I think in cases where the weather is at levels dangerous to the general public, they should go ahead and cancel. Trying to get everyone back for the game at a later date is virtually impossible.

BUT, organizers could arrange to have the players and support staff meet at another location, or at another time and location to simply play the game out. Would it cost more money? Probably. But there would be a lot more satisfied fans.

It was just so goofy that Scotland complained before anything had taken place. Red card.

Too late! They should have referred this to the complaints committee before the game, not with the benefit of hindsight. Now the Scots look weak, having lost. Kick a man while he is standing, if you will, but not after he is down. Forgive, forget, move on!

Poor form WR. The Scots, Italians, Canadians, Namibians etc had every right to voice their concern/disappointment and feel disrespected. The fact remains that there was no contingency plan, no plan B/C etc and that smaller nations were treated like second class athletes just here to make up the numbers.

What WR needs to do is state exactly what the contingency plans were for moving the games, this they haven't done.
